When I first saw my sweet Diva, she was wearing a red velvet Ms. Claus dress with a jingles necklace. It was Christmas and I fell in love with her instantly. She was quite the jealous little creature when it came to me, but that did not stop her from defending her older brother. She was very protective of him as if she were the eldest of the two. She followed me around everywhere, including to the restroom. She has always been the most loyal of my 2 dogs. Diva’s older brother tends to give his love to the lowest bidder; whereas, my sweet little girl always placed me first. Diva was always the first to bark in joy whenever I got home or when food or treats were in the mix. In hind sight, I now realize she was the initiator of the barking in the house. It’s only been one day, and all I hear is silence when I walk into the house although there are 3 dogs present. She was obviously the instigator, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. The vet clinic Diva went to had a warning note under her profile on their computer system that read: “Get ready for the sweetest patient ever.” That says it all. She was never nasty to the medical staff, regardless of the pain she may have gone through. She went through several accidents and surgeries, and not once, did she ever complain. She was so brave; yet, sweet. If she whined, it’s because the pain was too unbearable; otherwise, she hung tough. Oh, and boy, did she have an appetite! She ate until the very end. My sweet Diva was the best dog anyone could ever ask for. Oh, how I wish I could get her back!
